Spectrum 10k. went into it hoping to run faster than last years 35:24.  i have ran more mile in training but figured my speed would not be much improved.  overall it was a good race for me.

this years time 35:09        last years splits -----------------------

mile 1  5:07                                                                        5:07

mile 2  5:47                                                                         5:46

mile 3  5:39                                                                         5:31

mile 4  5:54                                                                         5:57

mile 5  5:55                                                                         5:58

mile 6  5:44                                                                         5:54

.2        1:00                                                                          1:08

so i ran a little faster than last year, mainly because i finished a little stronger. in hind sight i should have stayed or tried to stay with Dustin Ence when he pushed to the front around mile 3. Nate bundy and i were gaining on Dustin but just ran out of race.  i can't really complain though everbody around me ran a great race. i am excited to see what this year will bring.  i ain't getting any younger but i am going to slowly increase mileage, try to stay injury free and see where that lands me come fall.  mileage wise i am in new territory for me and hopefully i can build a better base.

Good job Ryan. You ran a good race. Your going to blow some of those PR's out of the water with the increased mileage and consistant training.

Great race today, I was fortunate the race wasn't a few meters longer, I could feel you guys right on my tail. Great job improving your time from last year.

Good race Ryan. You really pushed me. Keep up those miles!

Good job to all you guys.

Nice race Newman. I figured you would run solid since your mileage has been a lot better in the last month. Keep it up and enjoy the spring up there. The only good time of year in Cedar (but the wind blows all the time, so I take that back... No time in Cedar is a good time!)
