Summer Games 5K 15:38.5, first place overall and a huge PR for me.  Kind of surprised myself. Once the race got going i settled into 3rd behind Garrett and a cedar high kid(forgot his name). I focused on staying close to them so i would have a chance at the end. Caught them and and took the lead with about a half mile to go.  I was feeling pretty strong and finished well.  I am pleased with my times although i would have liked to run faster yesterday.  Running fast today makes me wonder what happened yesterday.

Splits were as follows according to Garmin.

mile 1  5:02            mile 2  5:15        mile 3  4:59       .1     :21

Once again it seemed that my watch was regestering just a little late on the mile markers and 3.08 for the race total.

Wore my saucony racers.  probably only raced in them 3 times.  The felt great, but I am just really cautious because they are light weight and light on the padding.

Bang! I don't know what that means, but it is just the word that came to my head to describe your race - glad you came back and nailed it today!

Thanks for the encouragement Ryan. You ran awesome both days. I was really impressed with your race today. Keep it up and you'll have an awesome PR this year in the Marathon. Lets get together for some more runs.

Good racing on both runs Ryan. Looks like all old PR's are going down hard this year.

Nice run today. I have to say that the thing that I was impressed with was your determination. You looked really strong and focused at the finish. Congrats!!!!
