my watch died at 11miles, here are my splits:  took a half of GU at about 5-6 miles, one before race.

mile 1 6:22

mile 2 6:23

mile 3 6:12

mile 4 6:12

mile 5 6:11

mile 6 6:21

mile 7 6:22

mile 8 6:27

mile 9 6:24

mile 10 6:21

mile 11 6:30  watch died at 11.07miles and 1:10:16

last 2+ miles at 13:00 minutes.  many seemed to think that the course was long but my watch let me down.  This was a good race for me. I had 4 goals in mind heading into the race.

goal 1 match or better last years time of 1:22:42

goal 2 run my splits at the same pace

goal 3 focus on breathing  to avoid side aches which seem to plague me in longer races

goal 4 good leg turnover esp. on the up hill sections

considering  that last years course was short, my time this year is probably at least equal and i feel good about the race.  i have to admit that i surprised myself a little bit. my training in oct, nov, dec was very low key(so few miles that i didn't even keep track). 3 weeks ago i ramped up the running to hit the mid 30's to prep for the race.  sometimes less is more because i ran alot more miles leading up to the same race last year.  it was a fun race and i don't mind an honest course as apposed to the downhill races that we usually find in southern utah.

Good job with the race, You ran a lot of those miles real consistent right around 6:20-6:23 pace. Hope the training continues to go well.
